Nearly everyone knows the infamous scene from When Harry Met Sally when she wears a pair of vibrating panties to a restaurant. Hilarity ensues when she gets a jaw-dropping orgasm while in the middle of a lunch date, causing a bystander to tell the wait staff, "I'll have what she's having."

While the movie is now 20 years old, the desire to throw in a little kink to your undergarments is still as fresh as ever. For this reason, vibrating panties are still a mainstay for many individuals and couples who like the uncertainty from never knowing when your panties will turn on and start pleasuring you.

And like I said, it has been 20 years since that movie came out. Now we have much more powerful motors and batteries that power them as well as the ability to pair toys to devices in a wireless fashion.

You don't have to take them out in public, keeping your sexuality well within the confines of your bedroom can bring just as much pleasure into your sex life. I'd highly recommend giving a good pair a serious try.

That's the thing though, a good pair. Ninety percent of vibrating panties are just trying to capitalize on the WHMS scene I mentioned earlier by cobbling together $1 panties with $2 motors powered by watch batteries. Underwhelming is an understatement, to say the least.

That's why I decided to see what vibrating panties or vibrators that could work with panties are worth their time. For an item to qualify for this list, it has to be completely hands-free and able to inserted once and then not manipulated directly for it to be a source of immense pleasure.

So, after many trials and more panties thrown in the trash in a single month than I've ever done before, I'll be able to tell you which panties work and why I love them so much.

Let me preface by saying, I've tried a ton of "wearable vibrators" over the years and vibrating panties are not a new concept to me.

Many of the wearable toys I've tried did not live up to my expectations, with the most common problem being that they don't usually stay in place very well while I'm walking around/moving about.

In my opinion, it's important to do your research before buying a wearable vibrator (or any sex toy for that matter) and find out what other users had to say, which hopefully this article will help you accomplish.

The following 6 vibrators/vibrating panties are the top products I'd recommend to anyone looking for a high quality wearable vibrator:

Lets go over
each toy!

The Lovense Lush is a fantastic wearable vibrator in and of itself, it is completely hands-free and can only be used with the help of the free Lovense app. I've reviewed it at length and you can get a better idea of what its capable of by reading that review.

Since it can be controlled totally hands-free using the easy to use app, it's perfect for wearing inside of panties.

The Lush is very small and the part of the toy that protrudes outwards is the actual Bluetooth/wifi antenna that allows it to send and receive data. If you wear panties on top, it'll be hardly noticeable to anyone who's looking, but incredibly noticeable for you.

It tops the list because it can be extremely powerful if you'd like it to be, sits directly inside the vagina, and allows for an extremely wide range of options as far as intensity is concerned. I personally thread the Bluetooth antenna around my clit so it gets a little attention too.

The Lush is the #1 vibrator that I would recommend using for vibrating panties, for many reasons. If you're looking for a vibrator that you can wear under your favorite pair of panties, the Lush will serve you well.

#2 - The Esca 2 by OhMiBod

Coupon Code: DRCLIMAX

The Esca 2 has recently became a favorite of mine, for a plethora of reasons.

First off, it's a woman-owned sex toy company, which is something I can really get behind. With the majority of sex toy companies being owned by men, I feel the mark is often missed by many vaginal toys, since the creators aren't always in possession of the proper equipment to use the toys their making.

Being a female-owned company, it's abundantly clear that the R&D department has a clear vision for the purpose of each toy their creating. The Esca 2 is a perfect example of this.

It's a wearable vibrator that's very comfortable, has a design which keeps it in held in place and most importantly is capable of delivering earth trembling orgasms.

This toy can be paired with any Bluetooth-enabled device which is Kiiroo affiliated. This includes toys such as the Onyx 2, the Pearl 2, Fleshlight Launch or the OhMiBod Fuse.

In my opinion, if you're looking for the best wearable vibrator to create a pair of vibrating panties, the Esca is a toy worth considering or at least learning more about.

You can read my full review on the Esca 2 if you'd like to learn more about it.

#3 - The Lyla 2 by Lelo

Coupon Code: DRCLIMAX

The LYLA 2 is another stellar insertable option. I find it to be shaped in an incredibly comfortable fashion and I've actually challenged my husband to see how many times he could make me orgasm in a single day while we lounged around the house. I took it out for maybe a few hours here and there, but overall I didn't find it to be uncomfortable during long periods of use.

It works through a remote control that comes with the toy, and I think that's why it has one of the longest ranges out of all wireless sex toys I've ever owned.

While it is inside of me it is almost completely silent even at the higher settings, I'm assuming that's because it is muffled by my muff.

There are eight different settings on offer and it isn't unlike Don to get me used to the lowest setting while I go get snacks before cranking it up all the way.

Let's just say I've dropped the popcorn bowl on more than one occasion.

The rechargeable aspect of the toy really appeals to me as I am very studious with keeping all of my devices at full charge and ready to go. There's no guessing and looking in my spare drawer for any AAs.

#4 - Fifty Shades Freed
My Body Blooms

I swear, sex toy companies worldwide must have absolutely lost their marbles once Fifty Shades Of Grey became popular. As surprising as it may seem, I, the sex therapist, have never read the book. Now while I doubt this product has any real connection to the Fifty Shades franchise, I was a bit wary that they were just trying to capitalize on the name and not really deliver with the product.

The panties are satin and extremely cute though, so I figured bare minimum I'd have a new set of negligee. These panties have a little fold in the front for you to put in the vibrator, it isn't insertable and focuses entirely on the clitoris. And boy, does it ever do a worthwhile job. Sometimes I skip the panties entirely and just use the vibrator to tell you the truth.

Once you press the on button on the remote and on the toy, you're in business. The vibrator is excellently contoured and delivers strong, radiating pulses of vibration deep into my clitoral tissue. The panties are adjustable and should fit nearly every woman, I really like them.

#5 - Hot Date Vibrating Panties

This one is another insertable however it does come with an accompanying pair of panties that have a special bit of fabric that adds just the right amount of pressure to the vagina to keep everything in place. The panties fit US size 4-12, it is really adjustable.

The vibrating portion is a bullet vibrator that's about as long as the distance from the wrist to the end of the thumb and it has a cute little string to make sure you don't lose it up there when the fun is over. The panties themselves are thong style and make for an interesting experience, to say the least.

This one is an amazing mix of functionality and price. For under fifty dollars, you get a toy with ten different modes all with 6 intensity levels each, so it really makes up for the lack of clitoral stimulation. With a maximum range of about 15 feet, it is extremely serviceable inside and outside of the bedroom.

The toy takes three LR44 batteries (small, watch style) while the remote takes a single CR2032 battery (ditto). Luckily, your first round of batteries is included with the toy.

This is one I tend to enjoy a lot of solo use out of, I've done quite a bit of dancing with the broomstick while my panties hum along nicely. It's a far cry from being Snow White, but I make do.

#6 - Paloqueth Vibrating Panties

While this is yet another insertable option, it is a bit of a departure from the first two toys on this list. The Paloqueth vibrator adds clitoral stimulation into the mix as opposed to the mainly vaginal stimulation offered by the Lush and the LYLA.

It's made from body-safe silicone typical of trustworthy sex toy manufacturers. The insertable portion of the toy is extremely small but still designed in a fashion that makes it feel secure when inserted thanks to the included bumps and ridges.

With a 20 foot range, I've let Don smirk to his heart's content while I go through the check-out at our favorite stores.  I'd say that this is one of the best budget-friendly options, as it comes in at around thirty dollars online.

The vibrations aren't as powerful as some of the other options, but it is shaped extremely well for the female body and the added clitoral stimulation has earned it the #3 spot on our list.

What Are "Vibrating Panties" & How Do They Work?

To be quite honest, the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know about them.

Here's how to create a pair of vibrating panties... are you ready for it?

  • Step 1: Insert a wearable vibrator into your vagina.
  • Step 2: Put on your favorite pair of panties.
  • Step 3: Turn on your vibrator.

Voilà.

You've just created your very own pair of vibrating panties.

Okay, so in all seriousness, the concept behind vibrating panties is excessively simple. Attach a small vibrator to the area just around vagina height and then allow the wearer (or whoever they deputize) to have full reign over the sensations delivered.

What really varies is how vibrating panties choose to accomplish this goal. Some are simply toys that can be worn naked or with panties over top and are closer to wearable vibrators than they are panties, but they function to satisfy the same kind of desire so I'm choosing to include them in the vibrating pantie category. Others are panties that have a slit in them that you can either insert a vibrator that comes with the panties or one of your own in that you can turn on at your leisure. The last are panties that have the vibrator completely built in or where the vibrator is an integral part of the panties themselves.

With the advent of Bluetooth and sex toys releasing apps, there's a lot of wiggle room in how you can control it, gone are the days of having to use something that looks like a garage door remote within five feet of the panties themselves.

All that being said, some wearable vibrators work a lot better than others for creating a pair of vibrating panties.

Conclusion

I'm extremely grateful that vibrating panties aren't just a gimmicky way to get rid of last year's pantie catalog. A lot has changed in 20 years, and now vibrating panties are actually worth stopping to consider. I still must add that there are a lot of gimmicks, nearly every pair of non-insertable vibrating panties I bought were a complete waste of money, and since they came with the vibrator stitched in I couldn't even make use of them as clothing.

The ones that work though, they've made countless date nights a little more hilarious. I can't even count how many times waiters must have left mine and Don's table wondering what's wrong with my face. He's good at finding the best moments to embarrass me, but he'll get his comeuppance next time I get him to wear one of our wireless anal toys while going shopping.

We use them in private, as well. They're absolutely great when I'm on my period or just when we're in the mood. I've kind of trailed off, but in short, vibrating panties are a roaring good time.
