Sometimes we all get a little lazy. Work and social demands can be draining, but at the end of the day we still all have needs that just can't go without being satisfied. That's what's always drawn me towards wearable vibrators.
There are lots of times where I don't want to have to deal with having to maneuver a full sized sex toy around and put tons of effort into finding all of my sweet spots. For days like that, I prefer a toy I can just pop in, lay back, and play with the controls until I am completely satisfied.
That's where toys like the Lelo Lyla 2 come in. It's designed to be a completely hands-free bullet vibrator.
A good hands-free vibrator needs to fit like a glove, deliver strong vibrations that make up for the lack of personal control and be able to go the distance. Not all of them go the distance, the only other really worthwhile one I've tried so far is the Lush, and I could just tell it was going to be worth it by the shape.
It's also a very small toy so it can easily be worn underneath your clothes or during couples play. Needless to say, before I purchased it I was really eager to check it out.
Here's what I managed to find out:
What Is The Lelo Lyla 2?
The Lyla 2 is constructed from 100% body-safe silicone and ABS plastic, making it completely safe to use and extremely easy to clean. Soap and water will suffice, but there are some special cleaning solutions made for silicone toys if you want to make sure it is entirely sanitized after use.
Coming in at a diminutive 3.2 inches total with 3.1 inches of that being insertable, it is a relatively small toy accurately described as a bullet vibrator. As far as diameter goes, it is 1.3 inches at the widest point. The ABS plastic portion works as a great handle if you want to tease your clitoris before inserting it, and there's also a long string attached so you don't risk having the Lyla stuck inside of you for any longer than it has to be. If you plan on doing kegel workouts with the Lyla 2, you should be aware that its 36g in weight which is on the higher end of the scale.
The noise level on the toy at maximum setting is 50 decibels, which is about the same loudness as a normal conversation or about 1/4 as loud as a busy street.
The remote control works up to 39 feet away, giving it once the longest ranges out of all of the sex toys I've bought of this style. Don has used the remote while tinkering in the basement and I'm upstairs and it still manages to punch through. Everything is controlled through the remote, you can cycle through 8 different vibration settings that are perfect for solo or couple play. There's also the added SenseTouch mode where how quickly you move the remote around translates into vibration intensity, which is fun in its own right.
In the battery department, the Lyla is a pretty heavy hitter with two full hours of usage time for every two hours of charge. It isn't fantastic in the charging department but that long use time definitely makes up for it. Lelo says it'll keep a charge for 90 days on standby but I would recommend going through a full charge cycle at least once every 40 days or so to maximize the lifespan of your battery.
My Experience With The Lyla 2
When I get a new toy, I make sure to studiously test all of the toys I purchase before review time, I'm happy to report I went through multiple charge-empty cycles with the Lyla and tried it in just about every way a woman could before I decided to sit down and write this review.
In typical Lelo fashion the presentation inside the box is like you're at a 5-star restaurant that serves up dildos and vibrators and even comes with a cute pouch for the toy when it's not in use. I have a habit of reusing the pouches for other miscellaneous items and I've been asked where I've got it more than once. Sometimes I have to blur the truth a little bit depending on who I'm talking to, but at least Lelo gives some extra goodies.
It is extremely easy to handle and insert, the ABS plastic area at the bottom of the toy makes for a perfect place to place your hand while you gently insert the Lyla 2. Remember, this toy is made from silicone so you should 100% avoid using any silicone based lubes to make your experience a little slicker.
The SenseTouch mode is more of a gimmick than anything, I use it extremely infrequently but if you really want to make a show out of adding sex toys into your bedroom life it is a fun experience to share once with your partner. The way it works is that the more vigorously you shake the remote, the more the toy will vibrate. We've tried putting it on top of the laundry machine and similar type experiments just for fun, and while it was entertaining our goal wasn't always sexual, sometimes it was just morbid curiosity.
Luckily, the preset vibration patterns come along to save the day. The remote control is nice and compact and when I'm wearing it in public with Don I have a Pavlovian response to seeing him put his hand in his jacket pocket, I get ready for what's about to come next. The lowest settings are extremely subtle and I can actually manage to keep a straight face, but the higher settings really get me going. Since it is a bullet vibrator the motor isn't the most powerful out there, but it still gets the job done without me wanting more. Personally, after a certain level, toys can feel like jackhammers instead of pleasure devices.
Small size isn't a negative for the Lyla 2, Don and I have used it as a way to add more clitoral stimulation while we have sex, and to that effect it does great. Some patterns are better for superficial teasing of the clitoris while some of the more rumbly settings penetrate deeper into the clitoral tissue.
What about solo play? Well, I've used it both as a bullet vibrator and as a wearable vibrator (you can also read about how I've used this toy to make vibrating panties), and I'm very satisfied with the results. I make sure to get lube on the portion where the silicone meets ABS plastic to make the transition a bit more comfortable, but besides that, it does me well and I find myself being able to bring myself to orgasm within 15 minutes.

My Final Thoughts
I'm really starting to have too many toys in my collection, I do tend to throw out the ones that haven't seen any use in 4 months or more and that I don't see myself getting excited for again. I think the Lyla 2 will remain part of my rotation for some months to come, or at least until the battery gets less powerful which at this point it isn't showing any signs of.
In short, this toy was worth my time.
