Lelo Loki Wave Review:

Testing The Come Hither Prostate Massager

Written by: Don Watson | Updated: April 14th, 2023

Prostate massagers can be a real barrel of laughs sometimes.

I mean, its a toy you shove up your behind and turn on to get tantalizing pleasure only a small subset of men ever build up the courage to try. I was apprehensive but was converted very quickly after my first hands free orgasm.

So that's what brings us today to the Lelo Loki Wave.

It is essentially a permutation of their more standard prostate vibrator, the Loki. And it seems like they've drawn inspiration from their female product the Ina Wave when it comes to the Loki Wave.

This is a prostate massager like no other that covers quite a few bases left out by similar toys. While it does resemble the Loki it comes with an extra arm not unlike the clitoral arm of a rabbit vibrator, this extra vibrating piece turns out to make a pretty big difference. They didn't just add the "Wave" part senselessly, either. The prostate end has a built in "come hither" motion that I'll be testing whether or not it actually hits my sweet spot.

So on that note, let's get into it, shall we?

Design & Specs

At this point between my wife and I we have enough silicone toys to melt them down and re-sell the material as breast implants. By that I mean this toy is of course made from 100% medical grade body-safe silicone. The handle is made from ABS plastic which can be cleaned the same way as silicone so there's no worrying about the safety and hygiene of your toy.

Now let's talk about the toy itself. It is an almost entirely straight toy with a handle that extends a few inches out so you'll always have something to grab on to. While this design makes it impossible to wear it under clothing or while sitting down, I find playing with your prostate is much better done in private anyways. The base is flared so it doesn't go in too deep and on this flared based is another angled arm with a vibrating motor inside that's intended to tickle the perineum. That's the area between your butt and your penis, if the term is new to you.

On the Loki Wave, 3.54 inches of the toy is insertable and the total length is 7.7 inches long, so there's a lot to hold on to. At its widest the diameter of the toy is just shy of 1.5 inches. I didn't have time to measure the perineum arm but it is slightly smaller than the end bulb of the insertable arm.

It is 100% waterproof making it a fantastic shower companion where lubricant flows as freely as you wish and you can bundle cleanup into the experience.

There are 10 different settings that make use of both the motors in the insertable arm and the external arm. Each of these settings can have their intensity varied through the control buttons and all offer something a bit different from the last. They start off pretty manageable, a light mutter, and run all the way up to a pretty noticeable hum. There's more settings than usually offered by Lelo products because they counted a few of the options that have the external arm either on or off.

The real new settings that made me interested in this toy however is the Wave function. When activated, the internal arm of the toy will wave backwards into the prostate to rub the user, hopefully, the right way.

In the above image, you can see the 4 buttons used to control the toy as well as the battery charging port at the bottom of the toy.

You can recharge it via USB to a laptop (although I recommend using a cube adapter plugged into a wall) and a full two hours charge will get you two hours of use. If you really like the Wave function you might not get the full two hours but it still chugs along nicely enough. If you ever plan on leaving it on standby for long periods of time I recommend discharging it to approximately 40% battery life, this tends to extend the lifespan of lithium-ion batteries.

My Experience Using It

I purchased the Loki Wave from the official Lelo website for around $175. However, at the time you're reading this the price has likely gone down, you can check the price here.

As you can see by the image, the Loki Wave came with the toy itself, a small Lelo branded carrying bag, the USB charging cord, a small package of personal lubricant (enough to use the toy once), a small package of moisturizer, the user manual and warranty registration card.

I've been experimenting a lot more with anal toys now so for me this is sort of out of the frying pan and into the fire. I still get that initial "should I really be doing this?" feeling but after a full session I'm always glad I did, except for that one time I had to take a call mid-session, but that was more of a timing thing than a butt thing.

Anyways, I stared this thing down as it charged for two hours and then got it lubed up and ready to go. Since it is a silicone toy I went with one of our favorite water-based options so the toy wouldn't get damaged like it would if I chose a silicone-based lubricant. I affectionately refer to this style of prostate massager as a "butt sword" because well, that's kind of what it is.

The curve of the insertable arm is gentle and non-intrusive. As far as diameter is concerned I'd say it's just scraping the threshold of being intermediate in size. Once its inserted up to the flared based I know it's in place. The other arm hugs my perineum nicely and ends in such a way that my testicles are just within reach of the powerful vibrations. When it comes down to using the toy there's an interesting array of vibrations available, whether you like rumbly or you like shaky you'll be able to find something to get your rocks off. The added arm really makes it an upgrade over the original Loki.

Now it came time to test out the Wave function, though. My prostate can be very fickle so I was extremely interested in a toy that could give it a nice rub down. While it probably doesn't move as inside of you as dramatically as the pictures suggest, I can definitely feel it stretching ever so slightly to jostle the prostate around and personally I fell in love with the sensation immediately. I don't want to sound like I'm going overboard but honestly I am extremely happy with the Wave function as it works perfectly with the prostate.

Sometimes it can be difficult to stay in control of the device, however. There's no remote control or app control so if I'm going to go to one of the more intense settings I tend to keep my hand on the handle in case things get a little too intense for me. It's mostly a comfortable experience, I'm just easily surprised sometimes. Just exercise care because you can only change the settings with the controls on the toy itself, aka the part of the device now extending a couple inches out of your ass.

The normal vibration settings are pretty standard and while satisfying, they don't come anywhere close to what Wave mode does for me. For that, I'm high-fiving myself for choosing this bad boy.

Conclusion

So now my soft spot for butt plugs and prostate massagers has gotten pretty large. Just a few weeks ago I was still getting used to the idea and putting my old misconceptions to rest but now I would say I am fully converted. Should you be looking for a toy that goes above and beyond in the realm of male butt play, the Loki Wave's added perineum vibrator and wave function make it a cut above the rest.

Just make sure to wash it after every use, please...
