Fleshlight Universal Launch, July 2021

The Fleshlight Universal Launch dropped a few weeks ago in stores and you bet I was trying to buy one. After a few weeks of refreshing the Fleshlight website, I was finally able to get my hands on their brand new Fleshlight Universal Launch.

Marketed as a premium automatic male masturbation tool, the Fleshlight Launch Universal has taken the previous models and found a way to improve them in almost any way.

Ever since trying out the first Launch, I have become a huge fan of finding something to jerk my jimmy for me so you bet I tried out all the masturbators I could find.

From the Kiiroo Keon to the Fleshlight Quickshot Launch, I’ve tried and talked about many of them. It’s now time to take the Fleshlight Universal Launch for a spin and talk about how it compares to the rest of the products out there.

What is the Fleshlight Universal Launch

If you have followed any of these products at all, then you should already know the Fleshlight Universal Launch is a masturbator designed to give you a hands-free experience. One of the first products Fleshlight released was the Launch and while it was a fantastic product, it did come with its issues.

The machine itself didn’t have a place to hang on to or grip and I found it difficult to keep it secured, especially when I was orgasming or having it pump extra hard. The touch controls as well were a bit finicky and if I touched it with a bit of lube on my fingers, it would be unresponsive.

The next major product Fleshlight put out was the Quickshot Launch. The Quickshot Launch improved the design by giving you grips to hold onto and a mount for your phone, but once again, there were definitely some issues going on there.

While I didn’t encounter many mechanical issues with my Quickshot Launch, there were people who spoke about it online. My other issue was simply the Quickshot Launch could easily make a mess if I wasn’t careful. The open style back was great for having some towels or tissues around but it still was a bit off anatomy wise.

The FL Universal Launch looked to not only combat all of these problems, but also to improve the automatic masturbation game in every way. After looking at this thing I was quite impressed and couldn’t wait to try it out with my favorite sleeves like the STU, although I've been partial to some of the Kiiroo Feelstar toys lately as well.

Oh, that’s another important thing to mention about the Fleshlight Universal Launch. Previous models were only compatible with certain fleshlight models, if you didn’t have them, too bad. I don’t know if this is exactly why they called it the Fleshlight Universal Launch but this thing really does work with pretty much any of my different sleeves.

Want to hear something even better? Fleshlight went the extra mile and you can use this thing with 3rd party toys as well.

Instead of a solid piece of plastic that only Fleshlight sleeves can thread into, a simple but very sturdy lockable strap design is included so you can position any toy you want any way you want.

So to make that perfectly clear, you can use nearly any male masturbator in the Universal Launch. It's where the name comes from.

When it finally arrived, it arrived in its standard discreet brown packaging. Inside was a box with all of the bits and pieces I'd need to get going wedged between some styrofoam.

The Fleshlight Universal Launch does  expects you to bring your own toy to the party unless you get a bundle that specifically adds one.

How Does it Work?

If you want to get the full experience out of the Fleshlight Universal Launch there is going to be some assembly needed.

The cell phone mount that came with the Launch needs to be attached to the top with a simple bolt design.

This is not difficult at all to do but note that with the cellphone mount on it may be difficult to put it back in the box neatly.

As for the toy itself, there are a ton of features that this thing has that I can talk about. First things first, they kept the same grip style that came with the Quickshot Launch making it easier to hold onto and get a full experience with.

On the right hand grip on the side you are going to find your power button. Hold the button for 3 seconds and it turns on. Once you’ve got that on, simply hit the button again and the Fleshlight Universal Launch will start chugging away. Press it again and the device pauses. To turn it off, simply hold the button for another 3-4 seconds.

On the top of that grip you have the stroke speed button. This baby is capable of up to 250 strokes per minute and that in itself is quite impressive. Even if you can go faster than the Fleshlight Universal Launch, do you really have the endurance this thing has?

Moving over to the left hand grip, you’ve got two more buttons that are really quite fun to work with. At the top of the grip you have a rocker button for stroke length. Pressing that button up will increase the stroke length, pressing it down will decrease it.

On the side of the grip you have the stroke position. If you have the Fleshlight Universal Launch set for full length strokes, this button isn’t going to do anything for you, however if you are looking for precise action, you can set it to either stroke the base of your shaft, or up towards the head.

The possibilities are insane with this thing and I have been loving how much customization the Fleshlight Universal Launch has when it comes to your masturbation experience.

When it comes to securing your toy the Universal Launch is a breath of fresh air. There's no fiddling with the toy to make sure the threads are lined up properly and also no worrying it'll come loose during vigorous use.

Now there is simply a padded ring with a sturdy latch system that can lock just about cylindrically shaped male masturbator into place. The only toys I'd imagine to not work so well with it would be toys that are very squishy or toys that are ludicrously large or small.

A nice extra detail from this latch is how you can manually set the initial tightness and then use the second latch to push the cord in further without having to hurt your fingers. If you overtighten just undo the first latch a setting or two, simple as pie.

Let’s talk about battery life on the Fleshlight Universal Launch now. On full charge, you are looking at an hour of usage. The power level used is what accounts for the variance. Myself, I usually get about four sessions before it dies on me.

I feel four times is pretty fair considering the amount of opportunities I had to charge in between each of those uses. It being a passthrough enabled toy means you aren't stuck using the battery alone since you can use it while it is plugged in and charging. That also works great for anyone like me who is used to toys being less powerful towards the end of their battery since it eliminates the issue completely.

It's not waterproof in any way shape or form, don't be taking this into the bath or shower and expecting it to work for very long. If I had to think about it, the next version in 2023 might have waterproof as a feature but I'm just throwing that at the wall and seeing if it sticks since I really do wonder what's next from Fleshlight.

My Experience With The Fleshlight Universal Launch

I’m not gonna lie, I’ve used my Launch and Quickshot Launch a bunch of times before and I absolutely loved them so expectations here were at an all time high.

I loved the design of the Quickshot Launch so when they brought it back and improved upon it for the Fleshlight Universal Launch I knew that I had to have this thing.

While it was charging, I searched far and wide to determine which sleeve would have the honor of being first to grace the mechanical bliss of the Universal Launch.

Using the adjustable clamp is very easy, with one clamp "locking" it at the current tightness with another available to assist tightening around particularly interestingly shaped toys.

If you’ve read my previous articles, you might already know what I decided to choose, one of my favorites, the Riley Reid Utopia.

Ever since the Quickshot Fleshlight has been including passthrough friendly charging which means you can use it directly out of the box while you get it on its first charge. I'd imagine the science types among us would recommend charging it fully, but its nice to know the impatient types like myself can give it a shot right out of the box.

Some things were still being worked out in the Quickshot era though, with the overall phone placement being a lot more wisely built by the time of the Universal Launch. The Quickshot supported an open-ended toy and it sometimes made me worried about "friendly fire" on my phone.

Finally, I lubed myself up and got some lube into the Fleshlight to get started. Remember, with toys like this its not optional to use lube, without it there will just be a lot more trouble properly inserting yourself, among other things.

Any port in a storm tends to work, but their official Fleshlube is a good high end option while anything solely water-based will work in a pinch. Don't do soap or shampoo, they tend to make the sleeve develop holes quicker.

At this point waiting for new Launch toys is almost like waiting for the newest Fast & Furious movie, every two years or so I tend to find myself in this all so familiar position.

We've gone from a weird and heavy football shaped toy that made little sense to hold to specially shaped handles with the controls ready to go with the slightest thumb movement.

Three generations of Fleshlight Launch, from left to right: Original Launch (2017) , Quickshot Launch (2019), Universal Launch (2021)

What's changed over time though is how smoothly the overall housing moves up and down as well as how ergonomic these automatic male toys have gotten.

Remember, the first version of this toy did NOT look like how the Universal Launch does.

Often times with some of the more budget automatic masturbators I've used I find that while they might be fun initially, my Johnson develops something of a tolerance to the specific movements so for a toy of this type to be memorable for me it has to be very dynamic and user friendly.

Being able to switch both stroke length and stroke speed has always been one of the most powerful features of any Fleshlight Launch model released since 2017, it just makes the toys feel a lot more customizable and "in tune" with your desires. The biggest horny zone in the body is the brain, after all.

At its fastest you better be holding on tight to be prepared for what you've gotten yourself into. I think the next time I reach for my Universal Launch I'll be choosing a blowjob oriented toy for that full "nutted but she kept on sucking" sort of feeling.

Really, I do enjoy holding on for dear life towards the end of a session with the toy on full tilt.

I was always leery of these toys when I considered the full price tag, who wouldn't be? Ultimately though, Fleshlight steps up to the plate.

My Launch from 2017 does still work just fine today, as does my Quickshot, toys I was more than satisfied with at the time. With all of these new upgraded features, I'd say the Universal Launch is a no brainer for anyone who's spent more than fifteen minutes checking it out with interest and it more than justifies the price tag.

A Sign That Fleshlight Is Paying Attention

The Fleshlight Universal Launch is a combination of the best aspects of the Fleshlight Quickshot Launch mixed with the original Fleshlight Launch.

It's nice seeing all of the subtle improvements from each generation of toy to the next.

Automatic toys are mostly working on smoothness of operation as well as noise level these days.

There's not a big reason to make them any faster after seeing what they can do to me. I think Fleshlight feels the same way because now they're focusing on fine tuning the speeds they do have.

The Bluetooth and related VR content is unfortunately off the table for this generation of the Universal Launch, something I was not the most excited to see. Although if I really do think about it, keeping the price lower by not including Bluetooth support works for me since even with my Bluetooth enabled toys I probably only make use of it once every ten sessions or so.

For me its really been interesting to see Fleshlight address real concerns with their toys in a relatively short timespan. All in all, the Launch series is pretty sophisticated these days with few concerns left out.

Do I Recommend It?

I've been at this long enough to know this is one of those toys that will always be at risk of being sold out. Ever since I first started covering automatic male masturbators, the number of emails I get has nearly doubled since before.

And what are people asking about? Nine times out of ten, it's the new Fleshlight Launch.

The simple fact of the matter is that very few toys or even brands (with only Fleshlight and Kiiroo being options) can make a toy that actually moves up and down all by itself to simulate sex.

Sure, lots of other people have vibrations or other fancy bells and whistles, but only the Launch style of toys do all of the

Best Place To Find A Universal Launch For Yourself

As always, all Fleshlight products that I buy come straight from the Fleshlight website. With the Fleshlight Universal Launch however, you might have to wait a bit of time.

Sometimes stock is an issue with the Universal Launch, I'm not too sure what the explanation is exactly there. Maybe its extra demand, maybe something to do with computer part availability. I review sex toys, not predict market trends!

Anyways, sometimes Fleshlight pushes subtle updates to their toys like they did for the Quickshot Launch, if you aren't buying right from Fleshlight themselves there's a chance you'll get the outdated model. That alone is enough to keep me going right to the source.

Final Thoughts

This is without a doubt, one of the best automated masturbators that I have ever used, period. As I’ve said many times before, Fleshlight took everything that made their previous products great, and combined them into the Fleshlight Universal Launch.

It’s lightweight, comfortable, and doesn't discriminate as to what toys can join in the fun.

Just how Fleshlight went about making the Launch deliver its pleasure is unique in and of itself, it isn't often there are new toys that have their own distinct feel and experience to them.

So that means when a new Launch rolls up on the block, you can bet your ass I'm there to see what's going on.
