Know The Best Sliquid Lube

Sliquid Lube July 2021

One of the biggest misconceptions that I come across in my field as a sex therapist and sex toy blogger is this idea that lube is only for a very particular group of people.

Lube is often only associated with vaginal dryness, but this misconception is problematic and limiting for a variety of reasons.

First and foremost, this idea that lube is only for couples who can’t produce enough natural lubrication during sex wrongly equates wetness to sexual arousal. However, sex enthusiasts like myself know that getting turned on means so much more than just being able to get wet.

Once we understand that the need for lube does not always connect to a woman's lack of sexual desire, we can begin to have a more important conversation about how it's totally normal for factors like estrogen levels, childbirth, birth control pills, and even menopause to impact a woman's ability to create a natural lubricant.

In scenarios like this, lube can serve as just a little bit of help to make sex that much better for all couples.

Lube is also a really important part of masturbation! Using the right lube can make your self-indulgent solo sessions with your favorite dildo or cock ring that much more pleasurable.

As well, you can have totally normal personal lubrication during sex with your partner and still desire to use lube. Why? Well, the reality is that lube has numerous benefits for sex, no matter who's using it.

The bottom line: lube makes wet sex even wetter, which means less friction and longer, more enjoyable lovemaking sessions with your partner.

If you haven't guessed already, today we are talking about lube...and not just any lube. In today's article I'm going to give you a full review of one of my favorite Lube companies, Sliquid Natural Intimate Products.

What I like about Sliquid is that they do one thing and they do it really well. Sliquid knows the art of making high quality, reliable, and safe lube, and they have bottled up all of this knowledge into my top four different Sliquid products to cater to your different desires: The Sliquid H2O water based lube, the Sliquid Sassy water based lube, the Sliquid Organics lube, and finally the Sliquid balance body cream.

Keep on reading for my complete Sliquid lube comparison so that you can decide which lube is best for you, your partner, and of course your most treasured sex toy.

Who is Sliquid?

I love the story behind the creation of Sliquid lube because I think it speaks so much to consumers' need for a more responsible and body safe lube like Sliquid lube.

Essentially, the story goes that Sliquid lube was created because the company owner's wife was getting allergic reactions to the different additives found in regular lube products.

If this surprises you, you might also be interested to know that even the most popular lube brands that you can find at your local drugstore include additives that are related to carcinogens, harmful plastics, or have glycerin which can cause vaginal infections!

Clearly, people who have sex deserve better quality products than what other lube companies have originally given us. Enter: Sliquid lube, who has been making responsible lube products since.

Sliquid lube bottles body safe lube products that are glycerin free, paraben-free, 100% Vegan, free of sulfates, free of gluten and glycerol, and are designed to feel good on even the most sensitive skin.

What is the Best Sliquid Lube to Buy?

Sliquid July 2021

In order to decide what the best Sliquid lube for you to purchase is, we must first have a conversation about the different kinds of lubes available.

Yes, not all lubes are made the same! In fact, some Sliquid lube products are water-based , some are oil-based, and some are silicone-based.

Each of these different kinds of  Sliquid lube  serve a uniquely different purpose in the world of sex and pleasure! Let me help you familiarize yourself with the differences…

Water Based Lube

Water Based Lube (like the Sliquid H20 or Sliquid Sassy) is and ideal lube for people who enjoy masturbation, sex toy play, and or penetrative sex (read: literally all people!).

Water-based lubes are popular for folks who have sensitive skin because their base ingredient is water, and really there is nothing more gentle than that. Water based lubes are also preferable for people who are worried about getting a little bit too wet and wild with their lube products; thankfully, water based lubes are so easy to clean out of bed sheets and clothing and are not known to stain easily.

Another important point to be aware of with water based lube is that you tend to use a little bit more than other lubes on this list during each session. This is simply because water doesn't stretch as far as other lube bases, and so you might find yourself needing to reapply more frequently.

Silicone Based Lube

Silicone Based Lube is also sold by Sliquid and is known for its extra slippery quality. What does this mean for you? Well, using silicone based lube during sex typically requires you to use less product for longer lovemaking sessions.

As well, if you're someone who particularly enjoys extra steamy showers and baths, consider silicone based lube for your next purchase. Unlike water-based lubes, silicone based products hold up really well in water.

It really seems like the only thing silicone based lube just does not like is silicone toys, which is kind of funny because they're made of essentially the same thing. You might already be familiar with the rule that you should never put silicone based lube on your silicone toys because it will break down the toy’s outer material. If you are unsure about whether or not the lube that you own Is compatible with your sex toys, just read the toy’s owner's manual.

Oil Based Lube

Oil Based Lube can be divided into two categories, natural or synthetic. I am a big fan of naturally created oil based lube that uses ingredients like coconut oil or vegetable oil because it just feels better to use natural ingredients on my most sensitive parts.

A really important thing to note about oil based lube is that it can break down latex condoms. So, if you are having protected sex with a latex condom I do not recommend oil based lube to you and your partner.

If you and your partner enjoy a sensual massage as foreplay before you get down and dirty with things,  you will love to know that oil based lubes often double as massage oil. So, you really do get the best of both worlds!

Best Sliquid Lubes: What Do They Have in Common?

Now that you have a better idea about the kind of lube you want to buy, let me introduce you to my top four favorite Sliquid lube products.

Before I jump into the differences between each of these Sliquid bottles, let's review a few of the things they all have in common, that make these Sliquid lube options all high quality and accessible products:

Intelligent bottle design

Each Sliquid lube product comes in an easy to hold and easy to squeeze bottle. All you need to do is snap down the cap on one of your Sliquid lube  bottles, flip the bottle upside down, give it a light squeeze, and the perfect dollop of Sliquid lube will drop into the palm of your hand.

Environmentally conscious packaging

More benefits of the Sliquid product bottles: they are recyclable! Sliquid lubes protect your skin AND the Earth.

Mild or unscented products

Like many people, I'm particularly sensitive to strong sense in the products that I use in my body. For this reason, I am very pleased with the mild scent or the unscented options of all Sliquid lube choices I have experimented with so far. If anything, I get a slight lemony smell from these Sliquid lube products, which I find really fresh and clean smelling!

pH Balanced formulas that make for healthier vaginas

Sliquid lubes are balanced in their pH levels! What does this mean? Well, all vaginas have a pH level that determines a healthy level of bacteria growth within them.

When this normal and naturally occurring pH level changes (which can be brought on by lower quality lubes with harmful or unnatural lube ingredients), bacteria growth can fluctuate or increase, resulting in familiar complications like yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis (BV). Therefore, pH balanced Sliquid lubes may be less likely to cause common vaginal infections in women.

Proud ingredient list

Just like their transparent containers, Sliquid’s lube formulas have nothing to hide. Each bottle of Sliquid lube lists a full guide of its organic and natural ingredients to be really transparent about what goes into every bottle. In turn, this gives you control over what ingredients you are using on your skin, and makes you feel confident that there are no hidden and harmful additives in your lube.

Sliquid is cruelty free

Sliquid lubes are 100% vegan friendly and the company does not test their lube formulas on animals.

Local manufacturing makes for trustworthy and reliable products

All Sliquid products are 100% American and made in the USA, so you can be confident and sure of the quality of your purchase.

High quality formulas at a budget friendly price

Sliquid lubes are affordable! Their most expensive product is $23.99 per bottle, which is in all honesty a steal considering the high-quality ingredients that Sliquid lube uses and the care Sliquid puts into making these products.

My Sliquid Lube Comparison

Sliquid H20

Price: $8 to $19, depending on size of the bottle

Ingredients: Purified Water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners), Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid

Best for Sensitive Users

Sliquid H20 uses a high quality blend of ingredients that is meant to enhance your body's natural lubrication. What does this mean for you? The short answer is better sex.

The long answer is a lube that you'll likely develop a lifelong relationship with because of just how well it treats your body and improves your level of intimacy with your partner.

Sliquid H20 uses purified water as the base ingredients on it's a very transparent ingredients list. This means that Sliquid H20  is entirely body safe, safe for penetrative sex, friendly to your Silicone toys, and is not scented.

Another big benefit of Sliquid H20  is just how easy this Lube product is to clean up. When you are with your partner and using Sliquid H20, you won't have any worries about where this lube is going. Whether it be your furniture, clothing, or bed sheets, Sliquid H20 won’t stain.

Sliquid Sassy

Price: $9 to $19, depending on bottle size

Ingredients: Purified Water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners), Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid

Best for sex toys and anal play

If you are like me and spend serious money on your silicone sex toys to treat yourself to amazing orgasms, the last thing you want is to accidentally damage those toys by using the wrong lube.

This is why I recommend Sliquid Sassy as one of the best Sliquid lubes for sex toy users. Sliquid Sassy is a water-based lube (again, using purified water as the main ingredient) to keep your toys safe while making them way more slippery for ultra gliding user satisfaction!

Sliquid Sassy is also unique from other water-based lubes I have tried because this Sliquid lube is ultra thick. In my experience, because if it's thicker texture Sliquid Sassy lube  tends to last longer during sex than other water-based lubes I've purchased.

The extra thick quality of the Sliquid Sassy  also makes it an excellent water-based lube choice for anal play! It is not often that you come across a water based lube that is slippery enough for comfort during anal sex, so this was particularly exciting for me!

Sliquid Organics

Price: $9 to $22, depending on bottle size

Ingredients: Organic Aloe Barbadensis Decolorized Leaf Juice, Organic Agar Agar, Organic Guar Gum, Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Organic Hibiscus Extract, Organic Flax Extract, Organic Green Tea Extract, Organic Sunflower Seed Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid

Best for a plant based lube option

Sliquid Organics Natural Gel is another high quality lube option from Sliquid, that sets itself apart from the other products on this list with its unique ingredient base: Aloe Vera.

What does Aloe Vera do in a lube? Aside from being a luxurious moisturizing plant product that literally takes care of your skin while you use it, Aloe Vera makes the Sliquid Organics Natural Gel a thick lube.

The final Sliquid Organics Natural Gel product is thick and slick enough to guide your more “girthy” toys gently inside of you. Because Sliquid Organics Natural Gel has natural and organic ingredients (no silicone!) it is safe for use with most sex toys.

Finally, the Sliquid Organics Natural Gel provides enough padding and gel like texture to keep anal penetration or play with butt plugs feeling arousing and pleasurable for longer sessions. Use as much Sliquid Organics Natural Gel as you would like to get to where you need to be: this Sliquid lube never becomes sticky or tacky, and is very easy to clean up.

Sliquid Balance

Price: $14 for a bottle with a pump nozzle (read: excellent for super easy, non-slippery, and fast dispensing)

Ingredients: Purified Water, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Aloe Vera, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Lavender, Tea Tree & Geraniol Essential Oil Blend, Essential Oil Fragrance

Best for aftercare, to repair and recover your skin (it is a body lotion!)

Sliquid Balance is very different from the other products on this list for one key reason: it is not a lube. Rather, Sliquid Balance is Sliquid’s line of high quality hand cream and body lotion, specially blended to nourish and hydrate your skin.

You do not want to be using the Sliquid Balance inside of you because it is a body lotion, of course. However, the Sliquid Balance cream has many of the same body safe ingredients as the other Sliquid Lubes on this list feature.

Sliquid Balance is water based, non toxic, hypoallergenic, free of harmful additives, chemical, or plastics, and has natural and organic ingredients.

As someone who has dealt with year round dry skin since I was young, I can attest to the effectiveness of the Sliquid Balance body lotion. I use Sliquid Balance consistently throughout the day: after my shower, before bed, before and after sex with my husband Don, and I am always impressed with how quickly it hydrates and softens my skin.

Sliquid Balance never feels greasy, never leaves any unwanted residue on my skin, and always works quickly to make my skin feel rejuvenated and fresh.  Pick between two delightful and exotic scents when you purchase your Sliquid Balance: Mandarian Bergamot or Sweet Coconut (my personal favorite).

Where to Buy the Best Sliquid Lubes?

We use Sliquid lube products on and in the most sensitive areas of out bodies, so when you purchase the best Sliquid lube, you want to make sure you are getting exactly what you order: a body safe, organic, and natural product made to enhance your body’s natural lubrication and protect your skin.

This is why I absolutely recommend that you order your Sliquid lube products from the Lovehoney online store. This helps ensure that you are getting the true Sliquid lube product, with all its high quality ingredients, rather than a knock off or scam product.

Final Thoughts

Take my word for it: Sliquid lube is SEXY! And, there is no shame in using a product that makes sex more enjoyable for you and your partner.

Do yourself a favour and give sex with Sliquid lube a try. I gaurentee that once you discover sex with the best Sliquid lube, you will not be able to go back to just “regular” pleasure again!
